NICK CLARKOWNER & GENERAL MANAGERNick has been an owner operator since July 2017. Nick Initially came to work as our Sales Manager in November 2014 with no prior automotive experience, but he is a very quick learner. We were able to utilize his extensive management, customer service, and sales skills in the automotive industry.
Nick graduated from CSU Global in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in business management with an emphasis in small business entrepreneurship. Nick has completely embraced the philosophy that our reputation has been built on for the past 18 years - going the extra mile to provide the best quality auto repair in town while striving to build lasting relationships with each and every customer that walks through the door! The success of the shop comes from qualified service Managers and highly qualified team of ASE certified Technicians. |
Nick lives in Berthoud with his wife, April (David and Sherri’s daughter), where you will find him either working on a project, hanging out with family and friends, making his own wine or brewing beer in his basement, hunting, golfing, or about any activity that involves being outside! Nick always pictured himself growing up as a successful entrepreneur wearing nice suits sitting behind a big desk. Nick, always a lover of dogs, at the early age of nine he started up his own lucrative lawn mowing, and dog poop removal business called “Deputy Doo Doo & Lawn Care,” and the rest is history.

Joe FrankService MANAGER • Joined the Hayes Team in June, 2022
• 5+ years Auto Technician & Service Advisor Experience • Certified Master Scuba Instructor with PADI & IANTD Agency • Certified Emergency Medical Technician & Certified Firefighter in Wisconsin Joe has recently joined the Hayes management team, bringing with him five years of automotive experience including the past two years as the service manager for Firestone.
|
In addition, Joe brings many interesting and valuable life and employment experiences in other fields such as time he served as a volunteer EMT and firefighter in Richfield, Wisconsin where he was part of the dive search and rescue team. He also spent over 13 years as a master scuba instructor that allowed him to spend time in many beautiful places like Cancun, Cozumel, Belize, San Pedro, Egypt, and various places around the Caribbean until COVID basically shut down his thriving scuba shop and dive business.
Joe grew up in Wisconsin and eventually opened up a scuba shop & dive business in Port Washington, WI on Lake Michigan. It was at his scuba shop he met his future wife who was taking diving lessons. After some initial resistance due to the professional nature of the meeting, they eventually began seeing each other & married in October of 2021. Joe’s wife accepted a job transfer in June of 2020 which brought them to Longmont where they currently reside with their four “kids with paws” (& a snake)! In their spare time, you will find them scuba diving, taking new off road adventures throughout the state, visiting new dog parks with the “kids”, or camping. We consider ourselves very lucky to have Joe on board for as long as possible, but his goal is to eventually retire somewhere he can be by the water, dive and live out his dream.

Stanley JonesService AdvisorStanley joined the Hayes management team bringing with him six years retail management experience, four of those in automotive repair including two years as the service manager for Firestone Complete Auto Care.
Stanley grew up in and around southern California, but it was in Santa Monica where he developed a love of skateboarding in middle school and spent his free time hanging out at the local skate parks and entrenched in local skateboarding community. This eventually led to lucrative sponsorships straight out of high school where he would travel with other skateboard professionals to famous “street spots” to develop new tricks and get noticed for almost nine years.
|
After stepping away from his professional skateboarding career, Stanley decided to try his hand working in the automotive repair industry where he eventually worked his way up to service manager.
Stanley is currently single and resides in Greeley with his dog Delilah. In his free time, you can still find him on his skateboard, or finding beautiful places to rock climb, hanging out with friends and playing pool, or painting. When asked what would have been his absolute dream job, he would have loved to become a professional athlete, preferably in baseball.

SHERRI HAYESOWNER & OFFICE MANAGER • Opened Hayes Automotive with her husband in July 2002
• 40+ years office management & bookkeeping experience • Many hats – Payroll, Human Relations, AR, AP, & 'Shop Mom' Sherri Hayes is a working owner and the Office Manager at Hayes Automotive. She has over 40 years office and bookkeeping experience. She started out as a receptionist right out of high school and eventually worked her way up to a full-charge bookkeeper.
While her children were young, she owned & operated a licensed daycare for nine years. Sherri feels the training and experience she gained as an office assistant and full-charge bookkeeper over the years prepared her to apply that knowledge in her own business. She has definitely learned a lot about automotive repair over the past 21 years, but definitely deferred the overall management of the shop to her husband, and more recently to her son-in-law Nick who is the co-owner & stepped in as Service Manager when David retired. |
Sherri and David have lived in Longmont since moving there from Thornton in 1992. Their three grown daughters attended schools in the area and all three graduated from Niwot High School. All three of her daughters are married so they have added two wonderful sons-in-law and a sweet daughter-in-law to the family as well as three beautiful grandchildren (so far).
She loves to travel pretty much anywhere and spending as much time as possible with family who fortunately all live real close. In her free time, she enjoys photography and working on her scrapbooks.

Lynsie KRIERparts manager • Associated Degrees in Business Administration and Medical Administration from Front Range Community College
• Certified Medical Billing and Coding from Front Range Community College Lynsie joined the Management Team as part of the office staff late in 2021. After spending 10 years in the medical billing world, she took five years off to raise her young daughter and son before returning to the work force part-time. It takes all her clerical and managements skills and experience to juggle home and work schedules, but she does perfectly – at least most of the time!
|
Lynsie is a native of Colorado and grew up in the Longmont area where she met and married her high school sweetheart in 2007. She recently moved from Firestone where she lived for 13 years to Frederick with her husband of 15+ years and their two children. When she is not running kids to school and activities or keeping things running smoothly at the shop, you can find her reading, working on a puzzle, spending quality time with the family, or sneaking away somewhere to escape the insanity for a few minutes!! If Lynsie could pick her ultimate dream job, it would be to volunteer in the NICU or similar place where they need someone to just hold and comfort the newborn babies.
ALVIN ORTIVIZLEAD TECHNICIAN • Joined the Hayes Team in '08 while attending automotive classes
• Lead Technician and Shop Manager • ASE Certified Master – L1 Technician with 12+ years experience • ASE Certified Diesel Technician with 5+ years experience Alvin Ortiviz came to work for Hayes Automotive as a part-time technician while attending Westwood College back in 2008. He had already received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering intending to eventually build space propulsion systems. He had never really worked on cars much, but after watching the first “Fast and Furious” movie a light went on so he bought a Nissan 240SX to work on in his garage and thoroughly enjoyed it! He went ahead and finished up his engineering degree, but after a few years decided his true love was Automotive Technology and he headed back to school for a career change. This has allowed him to not only build things with his hands, but use his brain and utilize his engineering background to figure out complex problems.
|
Alvin is dedicated to continuing his education and training in automotive repair and as a result has received numerous ASE certifications including ASE Master Technician and Diesel Technician certification, as well as Advanced Level Specialist (Master L-1) status, which is considered the highest certification in the automotive industry. If there is a training class available, we know Alvin will be there!
Alvin is a Colorado native and currently lives in Mead with his wife, Liz, and their three children. He mainly enjoys spending time with his family, bow hunting and fishing with his two boys, exercising regularly and playing the occasional video game. He loves to read, especially fantasy and science-fiction, but also enjoys studying about space science as well as Egyptian and Greek ancient civilizations. If Alvin had not changed careers he would probably be working as an engineer somewhere – but his dream job would be to become an archaeologist.

TANNER MILAMTECHNICIAN • Joined the Hayes Team March 2022
• Automotive & Motorcycle Technician with over nine years’ experience combined • BMW II Certified Technician and OSHA Certified Tanner recently joined us as a technician in the automotive repair world after COVID forced him out of the motorcycle repair business due to layoffs. He grew up in the New England area & attended Motoring Technical Training Institute in Rhode Island after HS due to his love of motorcycles. He also attended Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology where he completed numerous courses in auto technology, but he chose to spend the next 6 years working on bikes as a BMW II Certified Technician.
|
His love of snowboarding finally made him heed the call to head out west to Colorado. He spent three months on the road in an old converted school bus until lack of money forced him back into the job force in the Granby area. In early 2020 Tanner was laid off, but the automotive shops were still open so he made the switch and has transitioned well into automotive diagnostics and repair on all makes and models over the past two years. Tanner currently lives in Lousiville with his roommates and faithful dog Roxie, an Aussie mix. He is currently an eligible bachelor, who you will find either on the slopes snowboarding in the winter, or riding his dirt bike and enjoying the outdoors in his spare time. His dream is to eventually slow down and run his own shop or business, or he would consider doing a little Calvin Klein underwear modeling if that whole “being the boss” thing does not work out.
FERNANDO CALDEROnTECHNICIAN • Joined the Hayes Team in December 2021
• ASE Certified Technician with over 20 years’ experience Fernando brings with him 20+ years of front end, suspension, drivability and automotive repair experience on all vehicle makes and models. He attended Denver Automotive & Diesel College after high school where he received his Associate Degree in gasoline engines. He then worked on training and developing his diagnostic and technical skills in other shops in the area until finding his way to Hayes Automotive. Fernando is fluent in Spanish, which is yet another asset he brings to the shop.
|
Fernando currently lives in Firestone with his girlfriend Niki, his daughter and step-daughter, and their

most of his free time listening to or collecting vinyl records, attending concerts, or playing his guitar.
